Like so many fashion lovers, we’ve been daydreaming about Cher’s closet in Clueless since 1995. That iconic scene where she browses her wardrobe on a screen, mixes and matches outfits, and gets instant styling suggestions wasn’t just stylish—it was sci-fi. For decades, brands have tried to bring that dream to life, but have never quite gotten it right.
So, what went wrong? And how is our LookBookX technology different?
The Barriers to Build
Creating Cher's closet seems simple on the surface: digitize clothes, let users try them on virtually, and serve outfit recommendations. But here’s why it’s been so hard:
Lack of Realism in Digital Garments
Early virtual try-on tools looked more like paper dolls than real clothes. Clothing rendered without realistic draping, motion, or fabric behavior broke the illusion completely.
One-Size-Fits-None Avatars
Most solutions used generic 3D avatars that didn’t reflect users’ actual bodies. The result? Ill-fitting virtual clothes that misrepresented size, fit, and style.
Disconnected Systems
Brands struggled to integrate digital closets with inventory systems, personalized styling, and e-commerce in one cohesive platform. There was no seamless “click-to-wear” experience.
Tech That Couldn’t Scale
High-quality 3D garment creation was expensive and time-consuming. For mass adoption, brands needed speed and affordability—without sacrificing accuracy.
Enter Couture Technologies
So what’s our solution? We’re going straight to apparel brands to make interactive digital styling happen. When we work directly with brands and manufacturers, we’re able to turn garment specs into hyper-realistic 3D renderings of the clothes. Combined with our avatar capabilities and e-commerce integration, combining outfits and seeing how pieces look and fit on various bodies has never been easier.
More about our technology:
True-to-Life 3D Avatar
We use proprietary body-scanning tech to generate precise avatars based on a user’s unique measurements—down to the millimeter. No more guessing how something will fit.
Realistic Digital Garments
Our technology transforms 2D product images into photorealistic, physics-based 3D garments that accurately simulate fabric, movement, and fit.
Digital Try-On That Actually Works
Virtual try-on tools let customers see how clothes look and fit on their own avatar in real-time, paving the way for future collaboration between digital lookbook and virtual try-on technologies.
Integrated Commerce Experience
Our tools plug directly into retail ecosystems, making it easy to go from "try-on" to "buy now" in a single click, as it integrates seamlessly into brand websites.
Scalable for Brands
From indie labels to major retailers, these tools are designed to be fast, flexible, and brand-friendly. That’s the key to mass adoption.
