As digital fashion tools become more advanced, the demand for hyper-realistic virtual avatars continues to grow. While realistic avatars may be what the future holds, we’ve chosen a different path.
Our decision to use avatars without realistic facial features is rooted in one goal: delivering the most accurate, effective virtual fitting experience possible.
Fit First: A Design-Driven Decision
Our platform is built around the belief that the most impactful experience for shoppers lies in understanding how a garment will fit their real body, not in how a face looks on screen. That’s why our development has focused on two key capabilities:
Detailed 3D Garment Visualization: We digitally replicate real garments down to fabric behavior, construction details, and drape, so what customers see on the screen closely mirrors what they’ll receive.
FitMap Technology: Our proprietary FitMap provides a clear visual representation of tight, loose, and optimal fit zones. This allows customers to assess comfort, movement, and fit accuracy before ever placing an order.
These features help brands reduce returns, improve customer satisfaction, and increase buyer confidence. Our brand partners—from bridal to uniform to DTC apparel—are already seeing the impact.
Why Not Realistic Faces?
As the technology continues to evolve, realistic facial rendering will eventually be viable without compromising performance or clarity. But right now, adding facial realism risks introducing bias, distraction, and unnecessary complexity, without enhancing the core experience of fit and garment visualization.
Instead, we’ve opted for a simplified, mannequin-style avatar that directs focus to the garment. It’s a strategic choice to support our brand partners by putting their products front and center.
Looking Ahead
We believe in a future where identity, personalization, and performance intersect seamlessly. Our platform is designed to evolve alongside that future, but never at the expense of what matters most today: precision, clarity, and delivering value through fit.
Until then, our approach reflects our priorities, and our commitment to building the best possible foundation for the future of fashion tech.
